Short Stories Available for Pre-Order on Kindle

I wanted to let you know that my three brand new short stories are now available for pre-order on Amazon. (If you click on the links below, they’ll take you to the individual Amazon pages, where you can read a short description of each story.)

The stories will each be published one week apart (August 15, 22, and 29). During the week leading up to the publication of each story, I’ll have a contest where I’ll give away free copies of each title. The contests will be hosted on my Facebook author page and on my Twitter account, so if you’d like to play for a chance to win, head on over and join the fun. If you’re on Facebook, I’ll also be creating an event page for each story’s release where I’ll share additional information about the stories and answer any questions. So I invite you to join me for that, as well.

As I mentioned, these stories will only be published as eBooks and won’t be available in print. In addition, since they are being published as part of Kindle Direct Publishing Select, they won’t be available in iTunes or on Barnes & Noble or other retail sites for at least three months. So if you would like to read them but don’t have a Kindle, you can download free Kindle software from Amazon for your PC, Mac, iPad, iPhone, and Android devices.

Also for those of you who don’t live in the United States, the eBooks will be available for purchase on Amazon in the U.K., Germany, Italy, Spain, France, Brazil, Mexico, Canada, India, and Japan, as well as the Kindle Owners’ Lending Library (KOLL) in the U.S, U.K., Germany, France, and Japan.

Stay tuned! More to come!

Coming Soon! Short Story Singles on Amazon!

During the month of August, I plan to release three separate short stories as eBook singles on Amazon. While the publication dates aren’t confirmed, I’ll likely release them a week apart beginning in early to mid-August and will hold a contest for each story as well as hosting a release party online.

The three short stories that I’ll be publishing as eBooks are:

  • Remedial English for Reanimated Corpses
  • Dr. Sinister’s Home for Retired Villains
  • Scattered Showers with a Chance of Daikaiju

These are three brand new stories that have never been published. And they’ll even come with their own fancy covers!

As I mentioned, these stories will be published in eBook format and won’t be available in traditional print. For those of you (like me) who are still holding fast to your Luddite ways and haven’t joined the Kindle or eBook revolution, you can download free Kindle software from Amazon for your PC, Mac, iPad, iPhone, Android, and other devices.

So even if you don’t own an eBook reader, you can still enjoy my stories. I’ll be sure to send out updates when each book is being released and hope you’ll be interested in checking them out.

As always, thank you for reading.

Rock-Paper-Scissors-Ebook

A tweet by a friend about paper and ebooks inspired me to take the traditional game of Rock-Paper-Scissors and put my own spin on it, including ebooks as part of the game. Admittedly, my version is a bit skewed toward paper, but to paraphrase Lesley Gore: “It’s my blog post and I’ll do what I want to.”

——————————–

Rock beats scissors

Scissors beats paper

Paper beats ebook

Rock beats ebook

Scissors beats ebook

Hammer beats ebook

Baseball bat beats ebook

Golf club beats ebook

Tire iron beats ebook

Water beats ebook

Water beats paper but paper dries out

Fire beats paper

Fire beats ebook, too

Gravity beats ebook

Uncharged battery beats ebook

Prolonged power outage beats ebook

EMP beats ebook

DRM beats ebook

And, of course, paper beats rock

(*Note: EMP stands for Electromagnetic Pulse, while DRM stands for Digital Rights Management. If you don’t know what DRM is, you might be surprised to find out that you don’t own any of those ebooks you bought. You just bought a license for the right to read them.)
