Lucky Bastard TP Giveaway

While summer doesn’t officially arrive for another two-and-a-half weeks, we’re kicking off the Summer of Bastards and Egos early with the Lucky Bastard TP Giveaway!

Lucky Bastard SmallJust to be clear, I’m not giving away Lucky Bastard toilet paper. I don’t think that would create the right kind of impression in the minds of potential readers. TP stands for “trade paperback,” which is the edition of Lucky Bastard that will be hitting the shelves two weeks from today. That’s it over there on the left.

So to celebrate the new release of my third novel, I’m giving away three (3) signed copies of Lucky Bastard.

How do you get your hands on one of these free signed copies? Well, since it’s my third novel and since I’m giving away three copies, then I’m giving you three different ways to win:

1) Leave a comment on this post about your favorite good luck charm.

2) Go to my Facebook author page, find my posting there about the Lucky Bastard Giveaway, and share the link on your own timeline.

3) Go to my Twitter profile, find my tweet about the Lucky Bastard Giveaway, and re-tweet it.

That’s all there is to it. And yes, you can enter all three ways, but only once each way. Just make sure to share or re-tweet my original posts and tweets; otherwise I won’t be able to keep track of who shared and re-tweeted.

Contest ends at 11:59 p.m. PST on Friday, June 7.

Contest open to United States residents only. My apologies to the rest of the world.

Good luck!

  3. So, I have a lucky 2 dollar bill. I’ve had it now for 25 years in my wallet. It was the first 2 dollar bill I’ve ever had. It has been thru heat, cold, sweat, saltwater, 8 countries, 4 wallets. I always have it on me. When you look at it, it’s brown, died from the tanning of the leather, smooth to the touch, glossy almost. I don’t even know if it qualifies as legal tender any more.. and the cotton content has to be less than that of an original led zepplin TShirt from 45 years ago.. But it’s mine.

  4. My favorite good luck charm…I carry a St. Christopher’s Medal, though I am not particularly religious or Catholic. I have one with me at all times. When I’m in the car, I have 3 because there are two visor clip St. Christopher’s. I sent one to Vietnam with my husband and his travels went well, so I never go anywhere without one.

  5. my favorite lucky charm isn’t all that pretty.. it’s a doll that i’ve had since i was four named ‘curly head’ .. she’s quite bald these days, but the name remains. she used to be on the top shelf of a store, and when i saw her i fell in love. i asked and asked for her, but my parents said no. being four years old, i wasn’t really aware of our sad financial state. all i knew was that was my doll..

fast forward a few months later to Christmas, i was finally granted my wish. Curly head was mine! i brushed her hair incessantly, her locks bouncing and all shiny (probably has to do with why she’s balding these days)

she now is in the glass cabinet next to my desk. it’s a wonderful reminder that wishes can come true and a charming reminder of a blissful time. :)

  8. Many years ago by the time of MySpace, I used to have a good luck picture. With this picture, random women used to send me friend requests and messages all the time. Then I found a girlfriend, deleted my MySpace account, and not long after that my computer broke down, taking with it my good luck picture. I miss that picture.

Right now, I don’t particularly have a good luck charm, but I have a bad luck shirt. Even thought is an expensive black dress shirt, bad things always seem to happen when I wear it. I’ve gotten dumped by girlfriends and messed up job interviews wearing that shirt. I still have it, but never wear it unless I want to have a bad day.

  9. My favorite good luck charm is a 50 cent coin my dad gave me a few years ago. Carry it with me everywhere I go and when I don’t (because I cleaned my wallet out) I feel uneasy and a part is missing.

  10. Tucked away in my pocket you’ll find a smooth, polished piece of coprolite. Fossilized dino poop. It’s pretty damn spiffy.

  15. Strolling down the streets of Kowloon with my husband Ed, I found my feet stuck to the sidewalk and my eyes riveted on a rectangular piece of jade in an antiquities shop. It hung on a gold chain around the neck of a Buddha. Inside, the clerk quoted a price we could afford and much lower than the tag. Instantly, he looked again and a strange look passed over his face, but he didn’t take back the price. When I held it in my hand, it vibrated with magic and felt like destiny. When I need luck or confidence, I wear it over or under my clothing. I’ve worn it to give speeches to large audiences and even to the White House when I got “distinguished teacher” awards. I wear it when I need luck or a touch of magic.

  20. My favorite good luck charm is a set of cufflinks with ivory inlays that my father gave me as a child. They were his fathers and had a crack on the ivory of one of them. I placed them in a box with all my other “precious items”, mostly trinkets and the like that I had collected as a child, I pulled them out and kept one in each pocket for every exam on college and I will be wearing them to my wedding next month.

  21. My good luck charm is a medallion that I earned from a disorganized organization I’m a member of. Every year in March it changes in the holder I have on my keyring. Sometimes it changes hands, passed down from one who’s come before, or I receive one that’s brand new from someone who loves me. Doesn’t really matter where it comes from, the meaning is the same: one more year of commitment to a better life. As the number on the medallions get larger, each one has meant than I’m more happy than I’ve ever been.

  22. My favorite lucky charm was a fistful of Lucky Charms cereal, but I found it impractical to have sugary breakfast foodstuffs in my pockets at all times. Attracted frisky wildlife and members of the Leprauchaun Anti-defamation League.

  23. My favorite luck charm is my bear Arsha, I’ve had her forever.

  24. My favorite lucky charm? A pair of my undies. I wore them on my 21st birthday to go gambling and ended up winning a little over $500 on penny slots. Happy birthday to me indeed!

  25. I don’t really have any single good luck charm. Most of the time you’ll find me Wearing a locket my cousin made me. It has a small photo of my gram inside. I feel a little stronger when I have it.

  28. My favorite lucky charm is a four leaf clover. I have one on a keychain, but even when I’m not carrying it, if I’m out in my yard, I tend to find them. My yard has loads of clover, and four-leafed ones seem to grow aplenty. I don’t know if I’m luckier with them, but I like to think that I am. :D

  37. My lucky charm would be my brain. I carry it around with me everywhere. When it’s working correctly things go great. When it’s not working right that’s when things go awry and I get bad JuJu!

  39. My lucky charm is a hat. It is a beanie that looks like the TARDIS. Nothing through out time and space can touch me when I’m rocking that thing.
